Folio, 44 pp., VG-; quarter-bound, tan title label with black lettering affixed to red cloth spine, blue/green/yellow pictorial paper boards; mild fading/chipping/tearing with slight material loss to title label affixed towards head of spine (black lettering legible); rubbing to edges and covers of boards; beveled fore-edge, text-block clean; bumping to corners, slight material loss to bottom corner of front board; very mild residue to gutters of endpapers; very mild square of aged paste staining to front paste-down (likely from bookplate); first appeared as a story in THE LUCK OF ROARING CAMP AND OTHER SKETCHES, "reprinted in an edition of three hundred copies" stated to limitation/copyright page;
