Quarto; Fair/no-DJ; Blue spine with gold text; Boards strong, marginally clean with considerable shelfwear and edgewear, corners bumped, rubbing at corners, boards edgeworn, extensive chipping at both ends of spine, signatures exposed at top end of spine, backstrip exposed at tail of spine, horizontal crack 1/4 of the way down the spine - extends across the width of the spine, spine darkened by age, material dry and "crunchy" to the touch, edgewear along edges of spine - partial separation from front and back boards near both ends of spine, spotting on front and back covers; Textblock darkened by age otherwise generally clean with light underlining and marginalia on a handful of pages, light-to-medium foxing persists throughout text, inscription to a previous owner on reverse of front free-end paper, names of other previous owners inscribed on reverse side of first plate, hinges cracked, signatures loose - at least one partially detached, pages stiff, some difficult to turn, dedication page has a long narrow stain that runs the length of the page, all edges show signs of wear; pp 374.
