NOTES

Second edition (a reissue of the 1553 first edition) of the Latin translation of Le Imagini con tutti riversi trovati et le vite de gli imperatori tratte dale historie de gli antichi. Libro primo (1548).;

This work deals with the portraits and lives of the first twelve Roman emperors and all of the reverses of their coins and medals that the authors had found, arranged by the metal from which they were struck: gold, silver, or bronze. The Latin editions contain substantial alterations and additions to the 1548 Italian edition, including ten additional pages of engravings of coins and medals, Antonio Zantani's addresses to the reader, and an index. Although "Libri primi" appears on the titles, no second book was published. This edition does not have the dedication to Pope Julius III by Eneo Vico present in the 1553 edition
