V1&4 front board detached but present; back hinge/joint cracked, board still attached. V2 joints/hinges cracked, boards still attached; front paste-down starting to separate from board w/ chips closed tears to ffep; minor ink mark to front flyleaf; dark discoloration along top margin/text block head of 25-267 (text not affected); dark soil spots to "A view of the Apology for the Infallibility of the Church of Rome" pp579, 581-82, 584 (some text covered but still legible). V3 boards detached but present, ffep & frontispiece detached but present; small burn to text block fore-ege of 937-49 & unpaginated index (only slight bit of margin affected). V4 minor ink marking to ffep; bottom corners creased pp873-95.
