HANDBOOK OF RIO DE JANEIRO [Two Copies] [With] OPEN CONCEPT ALBUM [Three Volumes Total]
Rio de Janeiro: A.J. Lamoureux & Co., 1887. Four items from the collection of Andrew Jackson Lamoureux, by descent of the family. They represent his 1887 'Handbook of Rio de Janiero' in three formats, being two different versions of the trade edition, one possibly being a proof, a large format concept album of similar photographs, plus a group of loose photographs and prints. This collection is unique and has not been offered previously on the market. 1. An untitled open concept album of Rio De Janiero, circa 1887. Quarto, Unpaginated. In Very Good condition. Fully bound in dark brown leather with gilt inlay. Silk endpapers. Scrapbook style portfolio with 28 pages of thick cardstock, all edges gilt. Age-appropriate edgewear and rubbing to boards.
