[Great Britain]: [No Publisher], [circa 1840-1860]. Octavo, unpaginated. In Very Good condition. Bound in an unsigned mid-nineteenth century polished red calf with elaborate gilt tooling to paneled spine. Double gilt rules to both boards, with 'CYPHERS' in gilt surrounded by gilt oval of leaves on front board. Rear board has matching design, but with 'L. LEFROY' substituted within gilt oval. Verso of front free end paper has a pasted floral image, and recto of second free end paper has pasted image of birds. All leaves with hand-ruled borders in red and black. Has 122 numbered leaves (actually 135), plus nine leaves of an index organized by rank, with one blank ruled page following. There are stubs between most leaves, presumably by the binder to allow the binding to open. The insertion of the monograms has had some effect, with the leaves being slightly wavy and the glue/color slightly bleeding or offsetting. All edges gilt, with marbled endpapers. SN Consignment. Shelved in Case 3.
