Amstelaedami [Amsterdam]: Salomon Schouten, 1740. Quarto, [48], 234 pages, [12]. In Fair condition. Bound in full brown cloth, with blank paper spine label. Boards show significant wear to all surfaces, with cracking to leather along front joint, and cracking and discoloration to leather on front and back boards. Back board is detached but intact. Gutter along front board is reinforced with archival adhesive. Text block has light wear and moderate age toning to marbled edges, light foxing and moderate age toning to pages throughout interiorly, and some instances of creasing to pages. Tipped in page measuring roughly 4 in. x 6 in. appears at front, with 19th-century ink ownership inscription ("Frederick A. Whitney. / Presented to me by my friend & late Parishioner /John Perkins Cushing Winship. / October 13, 1869."). Another ownership inscription appears on the front free end page, possibly that of scholar and radical controversialist Gilbert Wakefield: "Gilbert Wakefield / 1799". Shelved in Room G. More
